F24 and E09 deserve separate attention because they usually activate a safety protection. If there is too much foam, an internal leak, or water accumulated at the base, the washing machine stops the cycle to prevent overflow or greater damage. The correct reaction is not to keep insisting, but to cut the power, check the base, and review whether the detergent used was excessive or unsuitable for the program type.
Door, lock, and imbalance: three warnings that seem minor and are not
F13 and E12 indicate a problem with the door closure. Often the cause is as simple as a garment trapped in the gasket, a door that has not fully clicked into place, or a latch already showing wear. Without lock confirmation, the washing machine will not start for an obvious reason: safety takes precedence over any other command.
When F14 appears, the scenario changes, but the underlying issue is similar. The machine has finished the cycle or is trying to release it, but the door remains locked. There may still be water inside, residual heat, or a fault in the release mechanism. Forcing the handle is not advisable; doing so usually breaks the latch or damages the locking assembly, making a fault more expensive that might otherwise have been solved with patience.
The UNB or UE alert is different: it does not refer to a faulty part, but to an uneven load. A tangled duvet, a very heavy towel, or a drum with too little laundry creates strong vibrations and the system interrupts the spin cycle. In Hisense washing machines, this protection is quite sensitive, which explains why the appliance can stop even without showing a real fault.
That behavior makes mechanical sense. If the drum turns with the weight concentrated on one side, the machine suffers sharp impacts that shorten the life of shock absorbers, bearings, and supports. Redistributing the laundry is usually enough, but if the problem repeats with balanced loads, it is worth checking whether the appliance is level or ruling out internal wear in the suspension.

If the fault repeats after those checks, the problem stops being domestic and starts to smell like a faulty component. A reset may clear a one-off alarm, but it does not heal a damaged sensor or a tired pump. Repetition of the same code at the same point in the cycle is the clearest sign that it is no longer an isolated incident.
When a reset helps and when it only buys time
Unplugging the washing machine for 15 to 20 minutes is still a useful move on many Hisense models. The door that will not open after washing also has its own logic. If the drum is still hot or there is still water inside, the thermal or safety lock may take a few minutes to release the latch.
