Inlet hose problems
Bends, kinks, crushed sections or a hose trapped between the appliance and the wall can restrict flow almost as effectively as a closed valve. These restrictions often happen after moving the machine for cleaning or due to improper routing.
Connection filters and inlet screens clogged
Small mesh filters at the hose-connector or inside the valve trap sand, rust and limescale. When partially clogged they slow the water so the washer never reaches the required fill rate. Hard water areas accelerate this buildup.
Low household water pressure

- Inspect the inlet hose: straighten it along its entire route, look for kinks, crushes or damaged areas. Replace the hose if cracked or deformed.
- Clean the connector screens: carefully unscrew the hose, remove visible sediment from the mesh screens and rinse. Avoid scraping or damaging gaskets and threads.
- Test household pressure: if multiple outlets are weak, the issue is the home’s plumbing (regulators, filtration cartridges, building supply).
- Refit everything correctly: reinstall the hose with a proper gasket, tighten by hand then a little more with a wrench—do not overtighten.
- Run a short program: after checks, start a quick cycle to verify normal filling. If flow returns, the problem was external or maintenance-related.

- No water — Cause: tap closed or partially closed. Check: fully open the shutoff valve. Expected result: continuous flow and cycle advances.
- No water — Cause: hose bent, crushed or poorly positioned. Check: straighten the hose and inspect its route. Expected result: immediate improvement if hose not internally damaged.
- No water — Cause: inlet filters clogged with limescale or sediment. Check: disconnect and clean the connector screens. Expected result: normal water flow restored.
- No water — Cause: insufficient household supply pressure. Check: test other outlets and inspect the home’s water network. Expected result: if low throughout the house, the washer is reflecting a broader issue.
- No water — Cause: defective or blocked inlet (solenoid) valve or control fault. Check: technical assessment of the inlet assembly and electronics. Expected result: possible replacement or repair by a technician.
When the cause is no longer domestic — call a technician
If, after opening the valve, straightening the hose and cleaning the screens, the washer still does not fill normally, the problem is likely internal.
