On an individual scale, the spending seems small; over days, weeks, and months, it can end up representing a relevant part of the bill. The problem is not that one red light ruins a household budget, but that many red lights do add up.

Power strips with switches help cut that flow with a single gesture. It is also wise to unplug chargers that are not in use and avoid leaving devices ready by pure inertia.
