What the E36 code means on a Bosch washing machine

When the drum finishes with water inside, the machine stops because it has not completed the drain within the expected time. The cause is usually the pump filter, drain hose or drain pump. Lint, coins, hairpins and fabric fragments can block the small impeller that expels the water.

If the drum is empty but the door will not lock or the program does not start, the diagnosis changes. On certain ranges, E36 is associated with the door-lock system or its wiring. Safe checks before dismantling anything

It is also better to stop testing if there is a burning smell, leakage, damaged wiring or repeated circuit-breaker trips.
