What the E18 code means on Balay machines

The washing machine monitors how long it takes to empty the drum before starting the spin cycle. When it detects that the water level remains too high, it stops the program and displays the warning. Clothes may therefore remain wet inside, with water still visible after opening the lid. The message does not necessarily indicate an electronic failure; it is often caused by a blockage in the drainage circuit.

Top-loading machines have an important particularity: the filter may be located in a lower or side area that is not easy to see, and access differs between models. Do not remove panels or tilt the machine to find it. The most reliable reference is the manual for the appliance identified by its E-Nr. number on the rating plate.
