Balay TI 6010 washing machine error codes: useful guide
A practical guide to interpreting warnings and locating common faults in this Balay washing machine.
The Balay TI 6010 may stop a program because of a simple blockage or a fault requiring inspection of internal components. On this model, fault reading depends on the control panel fitted: some units show a code, while others signal it through flashing indicator lights. Identifying the exact point at which the cycle stops helps prevent unnecessary part replacements.

How the Balay TI 6010 interprets faults
The TI 6010 designation alone is not enough to confirm every code: manufacturing variants and panels with different diagnostic systems may exist. The electronic board controls the water level, door lock, motor, temperature and draining; when a signal does not arrive within the expected time, it stops the cycle as a safety measure. For that reason, the same symptom does not always indicate the same failed part.
On versions with a display, the warning most commonly linked to draining is E18. On older units or those without a screen, the equivalent may appear as a combination of lights. The manual linked to the E-Nr number, found on the rating plate inside the door frame, is the valid reference for decoding the specific sequence used by the machine.
The most common warnings and their checks
When water remains in the drum, the first inspection should focus on the pump filter, outlet hose and drain pipe. Before opening the filter, unplug the washing machine and collect the water with a low container; coins, hairpins and lint can block the impeller. If the pump hums but does not empty the machine, a blockage is still possible; if it remains completely silent, there may be an electrical fault.
A water inlet warning, often associated with E17 on BSH platforms, requires checking that the tap is open, the hose is not kinked and the small mesh at the inlet valve is not covered with limescale. The door also deserves attention: clothing caught in the seal or a faulty door lock can prevent the program from starting even when the other controls work normally.
If the drum does not turn or the machine stops during spinning, it is important to distinguish imbalance from a mechanical fault. A single soaked towel can concentrate all the weight on one side and cause the electronics to cancel the spin speed. If the drum turns stiffly by hand, smells overheated or makes clicking noises, the issue may involve the motor, brushes, tachometer or a trapped object.
Resetting, safety and repair
A reset may clear an occasional lockout, but it will not repair a blocked pump or a leak. Switch the appliance off, unplug it for several minutes and select a short program again. On some Balay controls, holding Start while turning the selector accesses a cancellation function, although the exact combination varies by version; forcing an instruction from another model is not advisable.
Cleaning the filter, visually checking the hoses and redistributing the laundry are reasonable user tasks. Measuring a heating element, removing the motor or working on the control board, however, requires electrical knowledge. If water appears beneath the machine, the circuit breaker trips or the code returns after the drain has been cleaned, stop using the appliance and identify the leak or electrical cause before continuing.
Repair is often worthwhile when the cause is a pump, hose, door lock or brushes in a conventional motor. A control board, bearings or damaged tub can make the cost rise considerably, especially on an older unit. The decision should take into account the part price, labor and the appliance’s overall condition, not merely the temporary disappearance of the code.
A code gives a clue, but the model decides
The Balay TI 6010 warnings are a lead, not a complete diagnosis. The code identifies the circuit that detected an anomaly, while the real cause may be a dirty filter, cable, sensor or the board itself. Checking the E-Nr and observing what the washing machine does before and after the warning makes it possible to narrow down the fault much more accurately.
