The H6 display on a Balay dishwasher does not always indicate a fault. On many models, the screen shows H:06 as a six-hour delayed-start setting, while an E06 code refers to a different issue and should not be confused with it. H:06 may be delayed start, not a fault

The letter H followed by a number usually appears when the delayed-start function is active. The number indicates how many hours remain before the program begins, so H:06 means the cycle is scheduled to start in six hours. The dishwasher may appear inactive even though the control panel remains lit.

To cancel the delay, switch on the appliance and hold the start or reset button for several seconds, depending on the model controls. Then select a program and start the cycle again. The procedure varies between ranges, so the manual for the E-Nr provides the correct button combination. Do not dismantle the appliance or cut wires to remove the display.

The difference between H6 and E06

The most common confusion comes from reading the display too quickly. The H:06 indication uses the letter H and usually refers to a selected function; E06, on the other hand, may involve the door lock, wiring or electronic communication, depending on the platform and Balay model.

If E06 appears, first check that the door closes fully and that dishes, cutlery or food residue are not preventing it from locking.
